Spring in the Great Smoky Mountains has always been a time of celebration! That tradition lives on. Springfest is a three month long celebration of the awakening of nature that begins March 1, 2011 and is concluded on June 7, 2011. Pigeon Forge has many great events to celebrate this wonderful time of year.
Dolly Parade: On May 6, 2011, you’ll want to be among the throngs of people lining the Parkway in Pigeon Forge to see this annual event that is held in honor of Dolly Parton. Ms. Dolly is the Grand Marshal of the Pigeon Forge Dolly Parade, and as such she will be riding atop a marvelous float. This country singer and actress will be accompanied on her journey down the Parkway by festive floats, marching bands, and other local celebrities. Pigeon Forge will have the Parkway arrayed in colorful flowers so that everywhere you turn you are greeted by the signs of spring. The parade begins at 6:00pm. You will want to be sure you are there well before starting time to get the best spot for experiencing the Dolly Parade.
Pigeon Forge, TN Car Shows: Every year car lovers gather in the Smoky Mountains to attend the many car shows in Pigeon Forge. These shows feature more than just rare and unique automobiles. Automotive enthusiasts spend their time perusing new products, swap meet items, and interactive displays from vendors. For those seeking answers to their auto questions, there are all kinds of workshops available. These car shows have proven to be an overwhelming success and a great experience for all attendees.
Festival of Nations: Dollywood will be presenting their Festival of Nations on March 26 – May 2, 2011. Visit Dollywood during this time for a WORLD of entertainment. You will experience entertainment, art and food from countries like Georgia, Argentina, Ireland, Nova Scotia, Trinidad and Tobago, the Andes, and Africa.
